As part of your ºÚÁÏÌìÌà experience, you’ll join fellow Redhawks in various service projects on campus and in the broader community.
Immersive Experiences and Campus Traditions
Volunteer Initiatives
Get involved in meaningful service projects through Providence Campus Ministry throughout the academic year. These experiences include:
- Working with at-risk children and their families
- Visiting the elderly
- Taking food, blankets and other essentials to the homeless
- Contributing to neighborhood cleanup and rehabilitation
- Organizing health fairs, blood drives and food drives
Spring Break Service Trips
Travel within a group and spend a week in March helping others, working together and learning valuable life skills. Past projects have included volunteer work at food banks, homeless shelters and community farms across various states.
Day of Service
This annual tradition unites the ºÚÁÏÌìÌà community and dedicates a whole day to supporting various nonprofit organizations in the Pittsburgh area. Volunteer sites in the past have included:
- North Park of Allegheny CountyÂ
- Latodami Nature Center
- North Hills Community Outreach
- St. Paul’s Methodist Church
- Light of Life Mission
- Brother’s Brother Foundation
- Tree Pittsburgh
- Community gardens
- Providence Family Support Center
Conversation Partners
This rewarding opportunity is a fun way to learn about other cultures while helping others. Conversation partner volunteers help ºÚÁÏÌìÌà international students practice their English-speaking skills.
