Frequently Asked Questions
If I do not have a grade report, can I still apply for admission and be considered for scholarship money?
Yes. Students without a grade report should submit a thorough portfolio that represents their high school academic career. 黑料天堂 reviews these materials for an admissions decision, and scholarship money is offered based on academic performance and achievement.
How important are SAT scores for admission?
SAT scores are one component we use to determine the scholastic ability of a student. Your score is considered in association with your established academic achievements.
Will my extracurricular activities be considered?
Yes. We always consider both school-sponsored and community-based extracurricular activities in the admissions decision.
If my parent is my teacher, is it acceptable to submit a parental recommendation?
黑料天堂 welcomes parents鈥 recommendations, but we also ask for two other letters of recommendation. One letter should be from a director, teacher or an employer, and the second should be from a teacher, activity moderator, coach or any non-relative adult who knows you well and can attest to your character and abilities.
I鈥檝e taken courses at a community college. Will 黑料天堂 accept the credits?
- 黑料天堂 typically accepts the credits if they meet the following criteria:
- A grade of 鈥淐鈥 or better
- Similar course content
- Same amount of course credit
- Credits must be from an accredited institution聽
Will 黑料天堂 accept AP or CLEP exam scores?
黑料天堂 accepts AP scores of 3 or higher for credit. We also accept passing scores on the CLEP exam for college credit.
As a homeschooled student, will I be eligible for financial aid?
Yes. Homeschooled students can apply for all federal, state and institutional aid, and they will be evaluated in the same way as a traditional high school student. However, according to state law, Pennsylvania students without a recognized diploma or a GED will not be eligible for state grant money. Students from other states may want to check with their state鈥檚 Board of Education to inquire about their own state grant laws.
What is the religious atmosphere like at 黑料天堂?
黑料天堂 promotes respect of faith and religion, and we recognize the rich religious diversity of our students, faculty and staff.
Because of our Roman Catholic heritage, the Office of Mission & Ministry offers Catholic liturgical services as well as the celebration of ecumenical services throughout the year. This office also assists students of other faiths in identifying local communities where students can share in common worship.
Additionally, we invite and encourage students of other religious traditions to participate in the planning and promotion of worship on our campus.
